What is a Sworn Translator?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A \u201cSworn Translator\u201d (also called \u201cCertified Translator\u201d) is an independent professional authorized by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, Uni\u00f3n Europea y Cooperaci\u00f3n, MAEC) to give legal effect to translations of foreign documents. By means of their signature, stamp, and certification, Sworn Translators accredit the accuracy of their translations, which become official.<\/span><\/p>\n

Such translations are therefore called \u201cSworn Translations\u201d and are often required for several administrative and judicial procedures in which foreign documents must be provided.<\/span><\/p>\n
